Date of Birth: 16th November 1983
Place of Birth: Danderyd (Stockholm, Sweden)

Ages 0 to 11
Ages 11 to 18
Age 18 onwards
- Born to an English mother and a Swedish father
- Subsquently I grew up bilingual as both spoke to me in their own language
- Attended the British International Primary School in Stockholm from age 5 to 7
- Spent the summers on Dad's boat in the Swedish Archipelago...
- ..and the winters on skis, ice skates and toboggans in Sweden and Norway
- Parents divorced and I moved with mother to Hertfordshire in early 1991
- I then enrolled in St Helen's School, where I discovered a talent and love for anything artistic!
- I was an enthusiastic Brownie until I left for the Scouts at 10 citing that "Brownies are boring"
Ages 11 to 18
At School
- I developed my creative streak exponentially at St George's School until...
- ..churning out piece upon meaningless piece of art for GCSE rubbed me up the wrong way
- I found solace in an increasing interest in Maths and Physics, all the way up to A-Level
- I even did the UKMT Maths Challenges, winning bronze, silver, gold and once joint Best in School
- By 6th Form and a true geek despite artistic roots, I took the only path; that of an engineer!
Extra-Curricular
- A couple of formative things happened together in 1998(ish) at the age of about 14
- I got my first PC, which introduced me to the newsgroups, the web, email, chat, and the rest!
- I dropped the Scouts and joined the local Methodist Church "Youth Worship Team"
- In the YWT I performed sketches, monologues, short sermons, all vastly improving my confidence
- I also played Edmund in the YWT's sell-out production of 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'
- Sadly I left the team at age 17 when my grappling with God led me to believe he wasn't there!
Age 18 onwards
At University
- So as you may have gathered, I left home headed for the University of Bristol, where I have recently chosen to graduate a year early with a BEng, specialising in communications electronics (4yr MEng plus Year in Industry).
- I learned a lot about myself in my year out, leaving my first company after 4 months. Luckily Motorola were willing to take me in. The fact they now sponsor me speaks for itself!
Extra-Curricular
- Since the overhaul of this site I have a renewed interest in web design - once I get the time, I'll sit down and learn PHP & MySQL properly - the stuff that can be done is brilliant.
- I have been doing a small-time journo-job for Shiny Shiny, writing short articles about new gadgets from a woman's perspective. Unfortunately no free samples though!
- The year of work, despite the bad bits, gave me some freedom in terms of money and holiday placement. This allowed me to get started on what now takes up most of my free time! Sailing!
- I have now been on 3 voyages with the Tall Ships Youth Trust, and have become one of their volunteer crew as a deckhand or a watch assistant. I plan to work my way up to watch leader.
- My first voyage also slowly killed my digital camera - I bought a Fuji S5500 and have been well into my photography for about 6 months now - please see the gallery for examples :)
- Finally, the tallships have also kick-started an interest in dinghy sailing - from having one or two ropes to deal with on the ship - to dealing with the movements of the whole (albeit small) vessel!
